Proceeds will benefit the Young Literati of the Library Foundation of Los Angeles.

On Saturday, September 24 Make America Smart Again with partners Eat|See|Hear will host the Los Angeles screening of “Idiocracy” at the Echo Park Tennis Courts and Baseball field.   The film "Idiocracy" is a cult comedy directed by Mike Judge that satirizes the rise of commercialism and decline of human intelligence in a future dystopian society. The film was selected as a tool to remind and inspire audiences to use their brain and participate in our democracy.

Director and stars from the film, Mike Judge, Terry Crews, and Dax Shepard will be reuniting at the event.  TRDMRK (DJ Nu-Mark from Jurassic 5 & Slimkid3 formerly of Pharcyde) will be performing alongside DJ Diabetic (aka Shepard Fairey) prior to the screening

Proceeds will benefit the Young Literati of the Library Foundation of Los Angeles.

SEATING/CHAIRS:

This location is a sprawling, grassy lawn. Pillows, cushions and blankets are preferred, though low chairs with low backs are allowed. If you have a tall chair (like a lawn chair or camping style chair more than 6 inches off the ground) you will be required to sit outside the center of the venue, which is marked with signs on both the left & right side of the venue. There is ample room for chairs, so please don’t block the view of the person(s) behind you.

PRO TIP:

Arrive early to check out the Smorgasburg LA-curated food tents, Rock The Vote and other voter education booths. Bring pillows and cushions to sit on and blankets to cuddle under – it gets chilly on the grass when the sun goes down. Low chairs are preferred vs tall camping style chairs.

 This event is dog-friendly!
